The Heritage Garden Program is a free garden certification program dedicated to helping folks create water-wise landscapes and gardens that incorporate native plants of Washington State. The program was created in 2012 in partnership with Benton Conservation District and the Columbia Basin Chapter of the WNPS and has since grown to over 6 participating counties.
Heritage Gardens also honor the unique natural and cultural features of the Columbia River Basin and utilize sustainable practices. Program services include site visits, custom plant lists, planting plans and technical advice on watersmart gardening in our region. The program is offered free of charge to folks in participating counties. https://www.hgcd.info/
