Saturday, June 6 'Go Natives' Walla Walla Garden Tour — 9am to 1pm

Registration (and Map) from 8:30am - Noon at Whitman Street Shelter on South side of Pioneer Park. (Picnic shelter off Whitman St between the lake and the bathroom nearest the ball park).

At registration you will receive a list of gardens on the tour, descriptions, and a map. One fantastic garden in College Place, five new sites in Walla Walla and a few repeat gardens showing established native plants. Visit the gardens in any order at your own pace. Most gardens will have gardeners present to discuss how they established and maintain their native plant areas. These gardens highlight low water use plantings, no to minor herbicide/pesticide use, and landscaping with local native plant species to attract local wildlife. Special talks at several gardens include the Walla Walla Basin Watershed Council providing education and resources regarding common herbicides and pesticides and their alternatives. Other demonstrations include Hügelkultur (using base logs) and sheet mulching lawns to garden without digging! and a local grower native plant sale.
