Anyone who lived in the Pacific Northwest during 2015 will recall the devastating fires and smoke that summer. What can 2015 teach us about what will become the new normal without aggressive climate action?

Steven Ghan is a widely published and highly cited climate scientist with a doctorate in Meteorology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is internationally recognized for his expertise in representing the effects of aerosol particles on clouds and climate in global climate models. He leads the Tri-Cities Washington Chapter of Citizens Climate Lobby, coordinates trail work for the Pacific Crest Trail Association, and serves on the Boards of the Three Rivers Folklife Society and A New Start in Life.
