Join your neighbors from across the Mid Columbia region to Celebrate Science on Earth Day!
The Celebration of Science is being coordinated by a volunteer group of local scientists, engineers, and general science appreciators. Recent events made us realize that while we love science, our neighbors may not realize how much science impacts and improves their lives in the Tri-Cities and surrounding area. So … we decided to hold a Celebration of Science in conjunction with activities being planned for a local March for Science and a national March for Science.
At the Celebration for Science, we are working to have community leaders talk about the importance of science in the Tri-Cities and booths with science-based activities for kids and families. We’ll have real, live scientists wearing “Ask Me Anything” buttons for you to find out the answer to a scientific mystery or try to stump the expert in their field. There will be food trucks on-site for fueling scientific curiosity or you can walk to nearby restaurants in the Parkade or on George Washington Way.
By sharing our love for science, we hope to see more support from our community for science that upholds the common good and for evidence-based policies in the public interest.
