Gary Kleinknecht is education director of MCBONES. He will provide us with an overview of the Missoula Floods and look at the Columbia River Basalts as they relate to the floods. He will highlight two dozen geologic features that are evidence of the tremendous power of hundreds of  cubic miles of flowing water that flowed across our region. In addition, we will learn about some of the plants that lived in the mid-Columbia during the recent glacial maxima.

At 6:30 pm, we will have “Winter Twig ID”, learn to id plants based on bark, bud placement, etc. This is also an opportunity to socialize before our meeting.
