Mickie Chamness and Ann Autrey will be teaching an inexpensive class on how to set up your own Heritage Garden! Heritage Gardens are landscaped areas designed to promote the use of native plants, especially those of cultural significance; promote low-water use landscaping and efficient irrigation methods. Native plant gardens are also pollinator friendly and help to provide food and shelter to wildlife. This a “must” class for homeowners who want to save money on water bills as well as fertilizer and all the other costs associated with traditional lawn and garden care. The Heritage Garden was developed by the Benton and Franklin Conservation Districts, in partnership with the Columbia Basin Chapter of the Washington Native Plant Society. The class will be located in Kamiakin High School in Room 442 and is $23 - please register through the website below.
